Functional Spaces That Highlight The Outdoors
The homeowners had specific requests for us to design spaces that catered to their lifestyle, which included creating accessible planting areas at the rear of their home and bringing the outdoors inside. To achieve this, we incorporated storage and bookcases to create a cozy gathering area with a view of the backyard. Additionally, we constructed a two-story addition that provides storage space on the first floor and serves as a staging area for their various outdoor activities. The second floor of the addition features a master suite bathroom. Our focus during modernization was on energy-efficient updates and installing new windows while maintaining the historic details found in soffits, trims, crown moldings, clapboard siding, and the front entryway.
