Project Manager, Lead or Support Carpenter

Multiple opportunities exist with the production team at ABA! Our project managers run jobs directly from the job site, participating in the daily carpentry activities and managing the trade partners we work with. A Project Manager position is a full time, salaried role with great benefits! Candidates should have at least 2 years experience in project management within the residential construction industry.

Our lead and support carpenters play an integral role at ABA, supporting our Project Managers with remodeling projects and assisting with small jobs and warranty work.

We are currently looking for a lead carpenter with the desire and drive to run small jobs along with supporting larger projects. This is a perfect role for someone who is interested in a future as a project manager. Candidates should be organized with a proactive mindset and have some experience managing small to mid-size construction projects.

Openings are also available for level I or II carpenters. A carpenter at Architectural Building Arts is an hourly position with great benefits and an opportunity for career advancement. Candidates should have experience working within the construction industry; a technical degree or certification in carpentry is preferred.

All candidates should have experience in residential construction. A background in remodeling is preferred. This position requires an individual who is self motivated, dependable, an effective communicator, and efficient with time management. Job requirements include proficiency in the following carpentry areas: framing, windows and exterior doors, siding and exterior trim, interior doors and trim, cabinetry and built-ins.

Residential Estimator

We are looking for a Residential Estimator who will oversee the preparation of residential construction project estimates, budgets, and change orders for small jobs to whole-house projects. You will work directly with Sales during the bid proposal and estimating phase for new clients and with the Production Manager and Project Manager(s) during the build phase scoping and pricing change orders as well as monitoring budget accuracy throughout the project.

Principal accountabilities for this role include:

  • Accurate and Complete Proposed Project Estimates and Budgets
  • Trade Partner and Supplier Management
  • Project Construction Documentation and Hand-off to Project Management
  • Materials Procurement and Management
  • Additional Work Authorization (AWA) Management
  • Project Costing and Tracking with Controller

If you have these qualifications, we would love to talk with you:

  • Two or more years’ experience in pricing and/or contracting small to whole-home residential remodeling projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in specifying and ordering construction materials and special-order items for projects.
  • Basic understanding of construction methods and procedures with the ability to read and analyze plans and to write clear and concise specifications.
  • General knowledge of remodeling structural issues and the ability to communicate effectively with Engineers, Architects, and property owners.
